From Medication to Meditation

We spend most of our lives looking outward to the world of form and phenomena, believing that the source of happiness, peace, and fulfillment lies external to ourselves. During meditation, we expand our internal reference point from local to non-local, from constricted to expanded awareness, from a skin-encapsulated ego to a field of ever-present witnessing awareness.

Dolores Clark, MFT, CST joins Dr Jain to lead you to the most wonderful and fascinating dimension of experiencing the deep stillness within.

You will learn:

  • What is meditation?
  • How to use meditation in daily living
  • Preksha Meditation for disease recovery

Sunday 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
Science and Wisdom of Yoga

The Sanskrit word YOGA means union – union of environment, the senses, body, mind, and soul.  Yoga prepares the body, mind and emotions to progressively go within to attain higher states of consciousness.

During this session Dr Jain along with Mark Ruane, our Holistic Yoga therapist, will journey through the science of yoga to help you get well and stay well.

You will learn:

  • What is true Yoga?
  • What is the yogic way of living?
  • Healthy rejuvenating yogic practices
  • How to use Yoga as therapy to overcome illnesses.
  • What is the difference between a traditional session of Yoga at the gym and our approach to Holistic Yoga?

12:30 pm to 2:30 pm – Lunch Break
Sunday 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Pranayama – The Science of Breath

Prana – life-force - is the sum total of all energy that is manifest in the universe and all latent forces and powers which are hidden in men and which lie everywhere around us. Heat, light, electricity, magnetism are all manifestations of Prana.

  • Brief anatomy and physiology of respiration/oxygenation
  • What is Prana, Sub Pranas and their functions
