This signature MDI Wellness Center health training camp is based on the practices and sciences of Ayurveda, Yoga, Meditation and Pranayama. Ayurveda – the science of life - dates back at least 5,000 years. Yoga, which includes Meditation and Pranayama, is also a system of healing which originated in ancient India.

The Sanskrit word YOGA means union – union of environment, the senses, body, mind, and soul. Yoga prepares the body, mind and emotions to progressively go within to attain higher states of consciousness.
During this session Dr Jain along with Mark Ruane, our Holistic Yoga therapist, will journey through the science of yoga to help you get well and stay well.

Healthy rejuvenating yogic practices
How to use Yoga as therapy to overcome illnesses.
What is the difference between a traditional session of Yoga at the gym and our approach to Holistic Yoga?
12:30 pm to 2:30 pm – Lunch Break Sunday 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm Pranayama – The Science of Breath
Prana – life-force - is the sum total of all energy that is manifest in the universe and all latent forces and powers which are hidden in men and which lie everywhere around us. Heat, light, electricity, magnetism are all manifestations of Prana.
In the human body, all cellular and sub-cellular activities are governed by Prana.
Gyan Jain, PhD, and Mark Ruane, our Pranayama specialists, along with Dr Jain will help you explore the power of Prana to overcome conditions from fatigue to cancer.
You will learn:
Brief anatomy and physiology of respiration/oxygenation
What is Prana, Sub Pranas and their functions
Purification and detoxification through the practice of Pranayama
Types of Pranayama for daily practice to say goodbye to illnesses
What to Bring
As mentioned above, some of the activities during the weekend will beexperiential in nature. So wear loose, comfortable clothing. You may also want to bring cushions, blankets etc. for your own personal comfort.
