Therapeutic Breathwork
Breathwork is a therapeutic tool that utilizes the breath to activate subconscious and unconscious material. The nature of these issues is physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. The breath is a doorway to all of these levels of experience.
When these issues are activated, they are worked with in a variety of effective ways. For example, if an old emotion is experienced, you may be encouraged to go deeper into the feelings in order to release and let go of it so it can be liberated from the physical and emotional bodies. During this process, some memories of the circumstances of the emotion may arise such as who was involved in the event that catalyzed the emotion, how old you were when the feeling first occurred, etc.
One of the main purposes of breathwork is to release energy blockages that have built up over time. This is accomplished by energizing already existing inner processes so they can come to the surface of our conscious minds.
In addition to emotional material, physical, mental and spiritual experiences may occur. A physical pain may exist because of an old negative emotional experience. A breathwork session may spark new ways of thinking about life and change the way one processes information on a mental level. In addition, spiritual experiences may occur such as feelings of bliss, joy and more awareness of subtle energy flowing in the body.
A variety of breathing techniques may be utilized during a session, including yogic breathing techniques. Music can be an important part of the experience, so music appropriate for the session will be played in order to help you stimulate, experience and release energy blockages.
The session will conclude with becoming grounded, both physically and emotionally. The experience will be processed in such a way as to help you integrate it into your daily life. |
