Vedic Astrology: X-Ray Your Karmic Backpack
Vedic astrology (Jyotisha) is a system of knowledge from the unbroken Indian tradition estimated to be at least 5000 years old. It describes the 'natal blueprint' of an individual and the probable timing for the diverse experiences that are part of human growth and evolution. Vedic astrology consists of principles cognized by seers of truth in ancient India. These principles correlate the patterns of the stars and planets with the patterns of human destiny. The system works because of the continuity of the interaction of the laws of nature from the microcosm to the macrocosm at any given time.
It is common knowledge that we are conditioned by many factors and influences including our DNA, our family of origin, our gender, the area in which we are raised, the country of birth and the fact that we are humans rather than ants! It seems a logical extension to extend that influence to the cosmic environment.
The Indian tradition has described these conditioned patterns as prarabdha karma - the thematic material that will come forward in the play that is our lifetime. A human being has the unique distinction of dancing between the momentum of these patterns and the grace of intention and free will to shift that momentum when it does not serve us. Therefore, an integral part of any Jyotisha consultation is the identification of the karmic patterns and practical suggestions for how to enhance the positive momentum and mitigate possible obstacles and problems.
A Vedic Astrology consultation typically lasts an hour and explores one's basic nature in terms of strengths, weaknesses and tendencies as well as health, contentment, family, finances and one’s sense of purpose in life. It looks ahead to an understanding of transitional periods in life, the changes they bring and how to interact with this information in the most life supporting way. |
