Mindfulness and meditation informs much of Kristel’s work. Kristel was first introduced to meditation at the young age of fourteen, and the practice has profoundly shaped her life. She has experienced first hand the benefits of the beautiful path of meditation, including the cultivation of deep peace, release from suffering, the opening of the heart to love and joy, and the experiencing of great compassion for the self and others. Kristel believes that all can benefit from the practice of meditation and is passionate about studying and teaching meditation. She studies under the lineage of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche at the Shambhala Center for Meditation in San Francisco, and has completed numerous trainings and retreats in the Vipassana tradition. When she isn’t on the cushion, she can be found whipping up vegan treats, reading sci-fi or fantasy, or rocking out at the gym.
