How to Improve Your Posture and Workstation Ergonomics
WEDNESDAY, JULY 9, 4-6 pm
If you have bad posture and experience neck, shoulder, wrist, arm or lower back pain it's no coincidence: poor posture predisposes your body to breakdown. This is especially true if you sit at a desk for a significant part of your day.
Posture also affects your breathing, energy levels, and even cognition/ mental clarity. If you allow bad posture to go uncorrected year after year, it becomes more difficult to correct-- that is, it may become permanent as the connective tissues in your spine shorten and harden as you age and remain sedentary.
In this group visit, Dan Perez, D.C. will demonstrate several exercises and lifestyle modifications to improve your posture. He will also demonstrate how to set up your computer work station in a way that minimizes strain to your arms, wrists, shoulders neck and low back; and show you how to lift using proper body mechanics.
At the end of the class, Dr. Perez will examine patients for postural abnormalities and related pain syndromes and will advise a plan of corrective action.
