HEALTH CLASSES
An integral part of our mission is to educate and guide our patients on how to achieve optimal health.
While traditional medical care can alleviate many types of health conditions, true healing is credited to the body's own, innate processes. These processes can be enhanced via diet, movement, meditation and behavioral/ lifestyle modification.
It is an under-appreciated fact that the aforementioned factors are the most powerful determinants of your health and are within your control. Most chronic diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease are tied to inadequate attention to one or more of them. We can help by showing you fun, interesting ways to optimize these health-determining factors in your life via on-site classes and workshops.
Classes and workshops offered at MDi Wellness Center include Group Doctor Visits, Health Camps, Health Classes and MeetUp discussions.
Group doctor visits (GDVs): Group Doctor Visits empower patients with the knowledge and know-how to live a healthier, vibrant and fulfilled life. Standard medical guidance is integrated with lifestyle modification training in the areas nutrition, fitness, disease management and mental health. Group visits are led by experienced, qualified health care practitioners.
The Group Visits center on five (5) core subjects:
GDVs include face-to-face time with a medical provider to discuss your particular health concerns. Most PPO health insurance plans have coverage for group doctor visits. Guests (non-patients) can attend for $50/class.
Health camp - Health Camps are specialized, experiential workshops designed to achieve a health goal such as weight loss. They are longer in duration (usually 2-3 hours) and must be purchased in advance.
Health classes (HC): We periodically have health classes open to the public; sometimes on a weekend. They can include RUH Healing classes, Yoga classes, Back Care classes, Dance Therapy classes and Sound Healing classes. The cost to attend is $30.
MeetUp discussions: We sponsor the East Bay Holistic Health MeetUp group. Our MeetUps typically center on discussing an alternative/holistic aspect of health and may sometimes include a class, such as cooking, meditation and yoga. The MeetUps are more of a social setting in which to discuss health and wellness.
